Description

Create a beautiful coastal landscape while discovering the magic of encaustic painting in this hands-on workshop led by artist and educator Carolyn Childs.

The class begins with a demonstration of essential encaustic techniques and tools. Carolyn will then guide participants step-by-step through the creation of a serene coastal scene, making the process approachable and enjoyable for beginners while offering plenty of creative opportunities for experienced artists. Participants will explore color, composition, texture, and personal expression as they bring their coastal painting to life.

Throughout the workshop, students will learn a variety of encaustic techniques using a hot iron and other heated tools. You'll create several small practice pieces while developing your skills and complete a finished ocean beach painting to take home. One finished artwork may be displayed in a Lucite frame, which is included in the class fee.

This workshop is designed for all skill levels. Step into a warm, supportive creative space, relax into the process, and enjoy the calming experience of creating an ocean-inspired encaustic painting.
