Discover the magic of the harp with SparkHarp! This short course offers a unique opportunity to experience one of the oldest and most beautiful instruments in a small group. The harp is often inaccessible due to its size and cost, but SparkHarp makes it possible for everyone to create enchanting sounds, build confidence, and express themselves musically. The harp is a sensory experience like no other—from the touch of the strings, to the vibration of the wood and the sweet sounds it creates. Join SparkHarp and ignite a love of music, or simply enjoy the magic that playing this instrument with others brings.

The course will include:

History of the harp

Parts of the Harp

Harp string names

Basic harp technique 

Music theory

Playing fun special effects (used for storytelling or improvising) 

The elements of music (dynamics, rhythm, texture, pitch, melody, harmony and form) will be explored through ensemble playing.

Music games using voices and harp playing
