Description

This class is ideal for both beginners who have never painted and seasoned professionals looking to refine their skills! Each student will be painting an independent project throughout the entire semester at whatever skill level and pace they are comfortable with. This class will also have a demonstration or a mini lecture one time during the semester. The demonstrations will be in a follow-along format, in which students can paint along with me. I find this can be the most effective way for artists to learn new techniques or subject matter. Also note that following along with a demonstration is optional. However, listening in may be beneficial!
During the first class, please come prepared with a reference you'd like to paint from, or a painting that you've already started. If you have them, bring photos of your previous work and be ready to share the styles or ideas you’d like to explore or strengthen. This could be as simple as downloading another artist's work that you aspire to paint like. Above all, come ready to relax, learn, experiment, and enjoy the process. This class is a supportive space to ask questions, try new things, and embrace a little trial and error. Painting should be fun, so let’s keep it playful, creative, and inspiring!
